I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Politics Department at Pomona College. Prior to my arrival in Southern California, I spent three years as a Postdoc and Visiting Assistant Professor at Swarthmore College as part of the Consortium for Faculty Diversity Fellowship program. From 2014-2015, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Social Science and Policy Forum at the University of Pennsylvania. I received a Ph.D. in political science from MIT in 2013, a MPP from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 2004, and a B.A. from Howard University in 2000. Prior to enrolling at MIT, I spent two years (2004-2006) as a Lead Researcher (and occasional rabble-rouser) with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), where I worked on organizing campaigns in South Florida.
